Physical Appearance:Standing at around five feet tall Akeelah is rather short for her age and is commonly mistaken for being much younger than she truly is. Despite her small stature she is a rather attractive young girl. She has a slender build, small and delicate looking but well toned and surprisingly tough though at first glance she looks harmless. She has a nice figure though she does not go out of her way to show it off. Akeelah dresses rather plainly for the most part. She can normally be found in a t-shirt and jeans, sometimes a hoodie if she wants to cover up. She prefers to dress for comfort rather than style. She rarely does anything with her hair, normally she leaves it out and loose so long as it does not get in her way.
Personality:Akeelah can be a rather difficult person to deal with. She is naturally aggressive when she is dealing with people. She losses her patience with people easily and tries to push them away when they try to get close to her. She does not like getting close to others, people can become a hindrance or an annoyance, some people even turn against one another and just can’t be trusted in her mind it’s better to avoid them. Akeelah is the type of person that speaks her mind freely no matter how harsh her words might be. If she does not like something she will say it, if she finds you annoying she will not hesitate to tell you so. She prefers to use her words to push others away rather than her fist though sometimes physical assaults can express those desires far better than words ever could. Her aggressive behavior is what normally gets her into trouble getting her into fights that could otherwise be avoided if she could hold her tongue.
Most of the time however she is pretty quiet. Keeping to herself and trying to stay out of trouble. Akeelah does not mind a good fight once in awhile but she does prefer to avoid unnecessary fights when she can. Though she acts tough she won’t get into a fight she knows she can’t win, but if she is backed into a corner she refuses to back down. Akeelah does whatever she needs to to survive where ever she is no matter what others think about it. In her view right and wrong are things that are decided upon by the individual. So long as she herself is comfortable and the physical risks are not too bad she will do just about anything. Pride means nothing when you’re dead; Akeelah prefers to keep personal feelings from overriding her common sense. Though once in awhile such things do happen.

History:Akeelah grew up in a less than average home. On the surface her family seemed normal, a stay at home mother, an annoying but doting older brother, and a kind and caring father. But her father was no ordinary man, he was a demon slayer. He devoted his life to killing the beats of the underworld in order to protect his family and his community. He kept his job a secret from most of his friends and family including his wife out of fear of how they might react if they discovered the truth. But it was a different story for his children. Wanting to leave some kind of legacy behind he trained both Akeelah and her older brother in the art of demon slaying. Teaching them how to wield a weapon, how to protect themselves, and about the underworld and the creatures that lurked within it. Provided that their mother never found out about it.
The children took their training seriously and showed a lot of promise. It was enough to make their old man proud. He was confident in his children’s constantly growing abilities would make them talented slayers in the future. Maybe even a family line of powerful slayers that could protect mankind from the horrors of the underworld. But that dream would never come to be. Everything he ever loved and cherished, all his hopes and dreams for the future would be lost forever…
One night Akeelah’s father made a fatal mistake and tried to take on a demon far too powerful for him to handle. He was badly injured and was forced to retreat. He thought he was safe, he thought that he was lucky to escape with his life. Little did he know that he was being followed and had led his enemy to the one thing that he had sworn to protect. His family.
The creature came without warning and slaughtered him in front of his loved ones. Then it moved one, picking off the rest of the slayers family one by one. The youngest child it decided to leave for dead. It left her laying there amongst the remains of her family and burned down her home knowing that the child was too weak to escape. But the girl had survived the ordeal. She grew up cursing the monster that took everything she ever cared about away from her. She swore vengeance against the demon, hoping one day that she would find it and take its head for the family she lost.
Fighting Skills:When it comes to fighting Akeelah can be very versatile. Using what she can in the environment she is in to help assist her in a fight. She has no qualms about fighting dirty; she will do whatever she needs to do to win especially if losing the fight means death. She has no formal training, any skills she has are things she picked up from previous fights and her own training. Her true talent is her blade wielding skills. She is able to pick up any kind of sharp object whether it is a small knife or even a sword to use in a fight. And if she can’t find a blade to use she will improvise with whatever is nearby if it’ll help give her the edge in battle.
To make up for her small stature Akeelah’s main advantage is her speed. She can move fast, striking quickly and avoid being hit. A smaller target is harder to hit than a larger one and she will use that to her advantage when she can.
Weapons:Akeelah is a knife wielder, she is skilled in the use of daggers, knives, swords, or anything sharp and pointy. She always carries at least one dagger on her, normally concealed underneath her clothing in case she ever needs to use it in a fight. Most of the knives she carries are simple blades, nothing special about them but serve their purpose. But there is one blade that is special to her. The dagger that her father used when he went out hunting. The same blade he was carrying on him the night that he died. It is the only memento she has left of her family. It is a blade that she does not use often in a fight unless she is against a strong opponent or if she happens across the demon that she is after. (See picture below)
Abilities:Because Akeelah is a human she has no demonic power. If she did have some special power she is completely unaware of its existence.
Weaknesses:Her size can be a big disadvantage. Because she is smaller she is not as physically powerful as she would like to be, it is something she tries to compensate with by being more agile but it’s a weakness that she cannot deny. Akeelah is not as confident in her hand to hand combat skills without a weapon in her hands as she is with one. It makes her feel weak and vulnerable.
