Name: Raven Alexander
Nickname: The boys at the army base would often call her Meimei.
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Physical Appearance:Raven is very slight, her asian genetics give her a rather more frail appearance than lends credit to her abilities. Long straight black hair falls around her waist. Her eyes are almost as black as night. Every part of her appears dainty and well defined. Her keen interest in sports keeps her well in shape, including dance, running, cycling, rock climbing, horse riding and scuba diving.
Fighting Style: Raven is trained in every kind of weapon you can think of, she also excels at hand to hand though her favourite method of dispensing with an enemy is sterling silver blades.
Weapons: Raven has pretty much her own personal arsenal. Two solid silver knives bequeathed to her by her uncle on her 18th birthday. A glock 19 9mm. Several full size swords. An AR-15 and several other machine gun style devices. Raven can handle whatever is thrown at her from a weapons perspective.
Magical Abilities: None.
History: Ravens parents were killed during a home invasion when she was still a toddler. Her father she found out when she grew up had made the mistake of crossing an underground movement, borrowing enough money to fortify the home when Raven was born for fear of losing his wife and new baby to a demon or worse. The fortifications came with a high price, gunmen forced their way into the house, sent by men who knew how to override the system. The cost had been ten thousand dollars originally. The down side of dealing with such shady types meant there was no contract, no agreed rate of repayment. Having already repaid double that amount at least Daddy thought they had been more than reasonable. Mr Christodoulou thought otherwise.
Throught the ordeal Raven was within earshot of the proceedings, her father was forced to his knees and made to watch as her mother was repeatedly raped in an attempt to "pursuade" him to make further payments. Sadly for them, payday was too far away. All the begging in the world could not change their circumstances. Within 16 hours it became obvious to the goons that they were not going to get anywhere. It is believed that they strangled her mother and dispatched of her father shortly afterwards.
It seems the final act of these bastards was one of mercy. The last of the goons to leave called the cops and left the phone off the hook before they made their get-away.
Taken to the closest living relative, Raven met her uncle Hart for the first time in his office at the barracks at fort nix. The look on his face was priceless as the child was deposited into his care, entirely flummoxed at what to do with her he entrusted her for the first few years to a boarding school. School holidays aside her weeks were spent learning the basics of reading, writing and mathematics.
Her favourite memories were always of the holidays, the boys on the base would look after their little meimei, teaching her to fight and giving her weapons training in their spare time. At 14 Raven was kicked out of the school for beating a boy unconscious. Dragging "home" her bags, Uncle Hart had been promoted a few times between her first meeting and now, though the look on his face was more dismay than disgust this time, he accepted her application to the army based on his control of her "career."
Raven would never see combat but her need for discipline was obvious. Her shape was not bad considering she had been a student, having taken a keen interest in non academic subjects, it wasn't that Raven was stupid by any means, but her body was far more focussed than her mind.
Weapons training week 1 did not go smoothly, though she did pick it all up eventually. Her time at the base gave her a solid grounding as she became a young woman.
Raven chose to leave the base when the demons came. Though her position was easily defensible, she felt it was unfair to the people on the street not to provide some kind of military support. Uncle Hart offered her as many weapons as she could carry, and saw her off with a heavy heart.
After she left the first place she visited was her parents' graves. The one place which remains sacred to her. Finding her own place near the safe part of town, Raven set out to protect and serve, in ways the police no longer could.
RP Sample "I'm sorry" her hand pressed against the old man's cheek, his slowly withering features remained stalwart but she could see from the look in his eyes he was crying for her. His hand grasped her wrist and pulled it down, pressing into her palm her own set of dogtags and two shiny circlets of metal. "They were left to you, but I didn't have the heart to pass them on, until now." Raven's eyes brimmed with tears as she looked down, her parents wedding rings glittered against her olive skin, the sentiment made her lip tremble and she knew the general would not tolerate full blown tears in his presence.
"Th..Thank you" she whispered, trying desperately not to let her voice crack, as it was she lost the battle and turned her back to him, her shoulders shaking as the tears fell freely, lining her pretty face. "I miss them too" he offered. It was no comfort but sweet of him to say, and almost entirely out of character.
Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, she threaded the rings onto the chain with her tags and hung them around her neck, close to her heart. "For everything" she whispered, knowing she needn't say more. Pulling her to him he hugged her lightly from behind "Be safe." Nodding as she pulled away and slung the pack over her shoulder, he watched as she walked out of his care, and into the real world.
