Personality: First and foremost, Rodney is a family man. He loves his family, his brother and niece and would give his life to protect them. The librarian comes across as a very nervous man, he is only human which means that he does not stand up easily against demons and those which lurks in the night. Along with this, Rodney, although under the circumstances is a very happy and optimistic man.
Abilities: Although not that with any demonic powers, Rodney's greatest ability would be the ability to decipher old texts and documents. He has a great understanding of languages and the world around him which gives him quite a bit more knowledge of situations which comes in handy with others.
Fighting Style: Rodney is not much of a fighter, therefore if he does find himself faced in battle, Rodney will most likely use defensive techniques. He is very creative, and has learned from other more experienced demon hunters that it is very important to use what is available around him, so he uses these things in battle.
Weapons: Rodney carries a gun to and from work with him, however if his assistance is needed with a hunt, he packs a crossbow with him for long ranged distances.
History:
Rodney grew up with Luke McCoy, he was the elder of the two brothers and he carried the idea that he was older and wiser and tried to teach his brother to follow in his footsteps. When Rodney was nineteen and Luke was only eleven, their parents; Lucy and Michael McCoy had been taken from them. They had come down with a horrible fever which had taken it's toll and killed them both, thus leaving Rodney with the responsibility of being caregiver for the younger brother.
At fist, Rodney took up in resenting Luke, he did not feel as though it was his responsibility, it had took a long time for this feeling of resentment to pass.
Years flew by and eventually Rodeny, while his younger brother traveled, Rupert eventually got a job as a librarian and was approached by a council who knew of Rodney's extraordinary studying skills to do some research on some old artifacts that were found in a waste land not so far away. Rodney studied these and found interesting facts about the people who these belonged to, he discovered the existence of demons from the land in which the relic came from and this threw him into an ocean of prophetic study which ended up consuming his life.
Eventually, him and his brother drifted apart, Rodney received only letters coming from his younger brother explaining a huge secret which revolved around Luke's daughter, and although he had lots of contact with Luke's daughter Angel, Rodney did not have that same contact with Luke until he turned up in the tiny little town which his niece and brother both resided.

It was late at night, the outside sky had turned to it's dark black nothingness and the only light Rodeny could rely on now was the lamp which shone directly on the pages of his newest book which sat in front of him. It was something always known that Rodney much preferred the act of reading, to throw himself in someone else's shoes than to deal with real life. It was almost a release for him.
Rodney closed the book suddenly and looked at the desk top clock which stood erect on the back corner of the desk, it was past midnight and Rodney had to work tomorrow at the local high school.
As he stood up from his seat where he had been planted for quite some time, Rodney began to feel very nervous, he could hear something, a sound coming from outside the house, and although the doors were locked and there was no way for entrance, Rodney inched towards a trunk which was in the corner of the room where he retrieved from it an antique crossbow which was given to him from a demon slayer right before he had died. Rodeny looked his only form of protection over, his nerves causing his hand to shake as he held the handle in his hands.
Anything Else?:
Rodney is a human, meaning that he has to use extra precautions when involved in situations revolving the demon relm.
