As Akee landed a crushing blow to his side Roman let the lighter he held in his hand drop to the ground, meanwhile something else began to stir within Roman, discomfort, doubt, feelings that made absolutely no sense for the thoughts coming to him as began brief flickers of his journey to the hear and now.
He forced himself to pushed forward, to continue defending himself against the huntress as she tried to cause more insult to the injury she had just caused, all the while his energy trying to shield himself from what he knew was his own powers being used against him.
" Back off." was all he thought back before steadying himself firmly to the ground, he had blocked the attack to his stomache only by luck, next time he might not be so lucky. It seemed first what he would have to do is shut down Angel, but doing this would take a little bit of tactic, he would have to find a way to make it past Akee first.

Her assault did not go as well as she hoped it would. The good news was she managed to force the fiend to drop his lighter and now he was down one possible weapon. There wouldn’t be much need to worry about him using that flame to harm anyone, yet. But she still failed to land the killing blow. Roman just barely dodged her elbow in time which meant she couldn’t sink her knife into his throat. There was no time to think too much about that failure, she still had a dangerous demon on her hands that needed to be taken care of. The huntress caught a glimpse of negative emotion in his eyes but thought little of it. For all she knew it finally dawned on this fool just how dangerous the smaller girl was. She had no idea what Angel was doing to him; she didn’t know that the other girl had picked up any special powers the day that she first met her.
As the fought progressed the rest of the crowd finally took notice. Someone screamed and then everyone else took off running. Akeelah barely noticed what was going on, she was too focused on the task at hand to notice what anyone else was doing. At least now there wouldn’t be as many innocent bystanders in the way while she tried to take Roman out. Less people for him to try to hurt in this fight. Even if they hadn’t moved Akeelah would make sure that the fiend would not harm another person, not without getting through her first.
While Roman tried to back off to defend himself Akeelah pressed forward. She would bring her knife forward and arching up in one clean sweep, aiming to strike him in the chest. Regardless of whether she struck him or not Akeelah then would use her leg to trip him up and knock him onto the ground. The second he fell she was already on him, knife pressed firmly against his throat before he could even register what happened. Akeelah smiled again as she looked down at the demon beneath her. “I could kill you right now. Just one simple move and I can cover the pavement in your blood.” She said, slowly applying more pressure onto the blade held at his throat to drive that threat home. “But it would be a shame to kill you off. I kind of like you so I’ll let you live for today, that is if you give up and leave. Now.” It took a lot of will power not to just finish him off, now that he was here it would be so simple, so easy to just rip his throat open and spill his blood. She could take his head clean off and send it back to his brother as a gift.
But she had other plans. As much as she loved the idea of finishing off Roman watching him squirm would be even more satisfying. He deserved it, he said the same thing after all that he didn’t want to kill her because he just knew that he could. Proving that he couldn’t and rubbing it in his face was sweet justice. “So what will it be Roman? Give up or die?”

With Akee and Roman engaged in their fight Angel took the opportunity to maneuver herself to opposite side of the battle so to swoop up the potential weapon. It had been easy to get to, a little too easy considering who the opponent was. There was something definitely wrong with this situation.
What are you up to? Angel questioned, this time it was more of a thought to herself than to Roman. The last time they had all been together in this situation the elemental astral stalker had put up more of a fight than this, did he have this mapped out, was it part of some sort of plan to make them think they had the upper hand before he fought back full force?
Through the chaos that was the crowd behind them, Angel watched as Akee managed to ground Roman however instead of taking his life right there and now, the huntress was giving him an ultimatum, a chance to live. This being something Angel wasn't prepared to do.
" If you don't kill him I will." She didn't think about what she was saying, as she looked at Roman she felt a rage stir within her, she hated him and everything she stood for. Since they first met he had tried nothing but to ruin her very essence, first turning Luke against her, and then trying to take her away. She had vowed she would get her revenge on him and now here was her chance. She had made her decision, if Akee didn't take the bastard's life, she herself would, there was no way she was going to pass this one up.

Stunned, Roman lay there on the ground with the end of the steal blade directed at his throat, he was glad though, as bad of a situation he was in right now it could have been worse, his brother could have been here bearing witness to what was currently in motion and what was about to be done for Roman was going to do something very unlike himself. The demon who everyone had come to fear in the past was going to give up, to submit in order to save himself.
" Alright...." He managed to spit out, he didn't want to move for fear of the blade getting any closer. " You win for now Akee."
It was no sooner that he got the words out of his mouth though did he hear another voice come from what seemed to come out of no where, it was Angel's voice, but it was what she said which surprised him the most for the usually passive girl who always seemed to hide herself in the background now took a step forth and wanted to take a stab at Roman- literally.
His eyes shifting from Akee back to Angel, he had never had himself cornered like this before, at least not a corner he couldn't get out of. This was were Roman needed to use the element of surprise which was exactly what he did. With one swift movement of his arm he used his strength to push Akee off of him, while doing so making a point of twisting her knife arm back maneuvering her so that she was a wall between him and the new girl wanting to kill him.
Now he stood making sure there was a few feet between him and the girls watching their every move and preparing himself for when one of them attacked.

Akeelah tried her best to resist the urge to slit the demon’s throat while she waited for an answer. She was thrilled to get Roman off guard and even getting him in this position. It would be even better if she finished him off now. Nothing was stopping her from doing it; no one here would be upset if this fiend died. The only person that might give a crap would be this things brother, but the idea of Liam suffering from losing his brother only made her want to kill Roman off more. But she wouldn’t, not this time. She gave him a chance to admit defeat and leave and now that she said that she was bound by her words. If Roman was willing to admit defeat this time she wouldn’t turn her back on her word. She would let him go for today, but the next time she saw him she would kill him. It would be amusing to see just how badly she hurt this creature’s pride because of this. Hell he might be so scared and ashamed that he would not come anywhere near Angel now that he knew that Akeelah would be waiting for him if he did.
And there it was; Roman finally surrendered. Akeelah’s smile widen when he finally uttered his surrender. “Nice to see that demon’s like you do have some sense to them.” She said, the pressure against the blade to his throat lessening now. She really was going to let him free like she said she would, would have let him walk away but then something unexpected happened. Slowly Akeelah glanced back over to Angel, a mixture of surprise and amusement in her gaze when she looked the other girl over. Well this was interesting… It looked like Angel did not like the idea of letting Roman go free, even offered to do him in herself. Akeelah didn’t know much about the girl she had promised to protect, had no idea if Angel was much of a fighter or not. But she could understand the girl’s thoughts just then.
Roman had been a pain in Angel’s side for a long time now. He had caused her so much pain and suffering that her hate for him was enough to make her want to see him dead. Who was Akeelah to give this thing another chance at life when the one who would suffer because of his existent was not going to be herself. Guess he’s going to die after all… she mused. Akeelah was more than willing to give the kill to Angel but before she could even hand the knife over to the other girl Roman reacted. Taking advantage of Akeelah’s lowered guard Roman grabbed a hold of her, twisting her knife arm behind her back and tossing her off of him.
Akeelah cursed loudly as she rolled back onto her feet. Damn it, what the hell was she thinking? She just lost the perfect opportunity to eliminate a dangerous threat because she had gotten too cocky. She was lucky that he only threw her off of him, things could have been much worse. God forbid if he decided to hang onto her, he could have killed her. Pushing herself back up Akeelah shot an apologetic look over to Angel. The huntress’s over confidence resulted in this; if she hadn’t let her guard slip Angel would have had her chance to end this once and for all. Akeelah truly was sorry for her foolish mistake. But beating myself over this isn’t going to make this situation any better. she reminded herself. The only way I can make it up to her and to myself is if I kill him for good.
Her eyes drifted back onto Roman who was busy studying the two girls, she was going to make him pay for that. “Not smart Roman, not smart at all.” She growled, slowly inching her way over towards him. If looks could kill Roman would have died just thing. Any hint amusement in her eyes had vanished, leaving on the seething rage and hate behind. Akeelah was mad now and now he was going to pay for it. “I was going to play nicely but now you leave me no choice.” Suddenly the girl charged forward, going as fast as she could she close the gap between them once again. Knife swinging sharply to slash across his body. He wouldn’t get away this time, she would finish him once and for all even if it killed her.

Her heart began to pound quickly in her chest as time marched forward, she was so close she could feel it. She could imagine herself hovering over Roman like Akee was, except in her reality the metal blade would be shoved through the demons throat by now and his eyes would be rolling back in his head, it would all be finished in just a blink of an eye. One minute he would be alive, mocking her with his very will, the next he would be gone, never to be heard of or seen again.
She locked her eyes with Akee who turned around to look at her. She could feel her own eyes burning with hatred, prepared to watch life being taken away, hell happy for it to end. She felt like a child awaiting a new toy and every bit of her body screamed to let her at him. " I'm not letting him walk away from here free to hurt anyone else I love." She promised the pureness of her hatred sounded strange even to her own ears.
However, to her dismay it seemed Roman had something else in mind. Something else planned, that moment of surrender he had only moments ago seemed to have wore off and she watched almost helplessy as Akee was pushed up and back, this leaving Roman free to get up and onto his feet where he stood once again standing in front of Akee and herself. She didn't have to look at Akee to know she had regretted letting herself taken advantage was, she could hear it, but Angel brushed this off, it wasn't fully her fault anyway Angel had been a distraction. No, Roman now to his feet was just a setback and now he didn't just have the huntresses attack to worry about for that thing Angel tried to hide inside of her, well it had other plans of it's own.

As he stood their watching Roman found it hard to hide the satisfaction that he felt as he seen the hatred oozing out of the girl's face. He was getting to her, getting to both of them, but it wasn't Akee that he was after, it was the other. Angel had denied him what he had wanted for too long and quite frankly seeing her like this made him glad, soon or a later she would screw up and be alone that's when he would make his move, but for now he would settle for entertaining his need for a good fight.
While Akeelah came after him, her knife swinging wildly as she tried to bring him down, Roman stayed focused on the challenge at hand. No time during this did he intend to be back in that helpless positon- this he would make sure of, this was why when he seen an open window in Akeelah`s attack he took it by swiftly crouching down and sweeping his leg to set the huntress off balance, just merely missing the knife that she swung, now was his chance to seize what he had come here to take.
" Sorry about that Akee." He smirked as he rushed passed her. Now was his chance, but he felt something rising in the girl. Her true nature, it was the whole reason he was here, the whole reason he felt drawn to her. He let out a dark raspy chuckle as he inched forward, he knew that the girl had been trying to hide this part of herself from everyone and now he would give her no choice but bring it forth.

Akeelah had just about enough of the demon called Roman. His arrogance, self-centeredness, stubbornness, and unusual talent to generally get on any ones nerves were rubbing her off the wrong way. Not like he needed to try too hard to piss the huntress off. Akeelah had a very short fuse, especially when it came to dealing with demons. She hated their kind with a passion and the one she was facing now was no exception. What made matters worse was who this particular demon was related to. That fact alone made her want to kill him. It did not matter what Roman did she wanted to finish him off for good. The sick lock of satisfaction on the creatures face while she glared daggers into him only helped to add more fuel to the fire. Oh how badly she wanted to carve that look right out of his face. No more mercy, I’ll kill him off first and then move on to his brother. Next time around if she got him in position she would not give him a second chance.
When Akeelah moved in to attack she did so at full force. Her anger feeling her assault on him, but unfortunately things did not go as planned. When Akeelah lashed out at him Roman ducked to avoid her knife. The blade just barely missed its mark. She did not get the chance to strike back again before Roman made his move. Just like how the huntress had done to him the second after he dodged her knife Roman tried to trip her up. There was no time for her to avoid the attack. Akeelah fell back, momentarily stunned after she crashed to the floor. Damn it she mentally cursed herself. Now she was really mad. This bastard was proving to be more of a nuisance than she hoped he was. She had to do something fast before he hurt Angel.
Akeelah rolled onto her stomach and pushed herself back onto her feet. Roman was already making his way over to Angel. Oh no you don’t! she thought, rushing over to stop him. But she would be too late; the time it took her to recover from the fall and get over to them he was almost upon the other girl. The situation had turned from bad to worse and would only continue to descend from there. Akeelah could only hope that Angel had something up her sleeve to protect herself long enough for her to do something.

The look on Roman's face said that he was quite pleased with his current progress. He had the poor defenseless Angel right where he wanted her, by herself, with the only person who could help her ground for the time being. She should have been scared, she probably should have been running for her life right now, however the prey stood in the trap which had been cleverly set by it's capturer where she showed no sign of fear, more importantly no sign of backing down anytime soon.
Although this passive, seemingly normal girl wasn't a demon, she wasn't a complete human either. It had only been a few years ago that Angel had her very first run in with magics, not the kind with magic wands or anything that was only make believe. It had been an experiment one could say, something that had changed her life from the moment she started, it awoken a part of her that had been sleeping away for years before that.
She could remember that night like it was yesterday, herself, Alison and a couple of other friends sat down one night and began pouring over books containing spells, they practiced small subtle things, making things levitate, love spells for the more romantic love sick girls in their tiny coven, only the small stuff. Soon however, while the rest of the girls were changing their eye color, or becoming overly popular, Angel was able to do things that advanced witches had to study years to do. This however was due to the fact that she was a sorceress who came from a long line of the magically adept individuals.
This was the part of her she had tried to keep hidden from the others, there were only a select few that knew about her hidden powers and how they changed her into someone she didn't even recognize. However by the looks of things as it was now, Roman was going to force this inner manifestation out of it's shell where it had been hiding, only making the rare appearances every once in a while.
As the stare down continued and each competitor prepared to make their moves, Angel felt her more prominent features beginning to change as the trapped soul began to take over. Although she didn't see it herself, she knew that Roman and Akee would be able to see the blue from her eyes fade to black and her usually long black hair would go blond almost instantly.
Soon her ally and their foe would be looking upon an almost completely different girl, a powerful one, not the weak little Angel that they had come to know. She was about to wipe the smile of Roman's face.

He could feel the engery coming from the figure who stood in front of him. It was a refreshing change to feel this sort of power emanating from Miss McCoy instead of the usual frailness he usually felt. However as overjoyed as he was by this change that was taking place in front of him he knew he would have to proceed with caution for behind him, his excellent sense of hearing picked up the sound of the huntress getting to her feet.
" That's right. Show the world what you really are." Roman challanged. The power was becoming more intense now, Roman couldn't help but to watch with excitement as the human in front of him began to take on a new form. He noticed the change immediately as her eyes and hair took on new color as if she was a completely different girl, a demon, no, but certainly not completely human either.
Roman decided that to pursue this girl in a fight he would have to proceed with caution, therefore he decided that the playing ground needed to be redone before he continued. Therefore, while keeping his eyes focused on the threat in front of him Roman reached his hands in the pocket of his trench once again, this time pulling out a weapon in which he kept with him for occasions like this. It was a small switch blade, a trophy from when he had acquired from a military personal. The man had been too nosy for his own good so he had to do away with him.
Now, with the blade in hand Roman moved forward with the blade tightly clenched in his hand Roman took a defensive postion. He wasn't sure what the girl was capable of in this form and he didn't want to take any chances of injuring her too badly if he didn't have to, however, if she gave him a reason to, sadly her and the blade would become one and he would have no choice but to end it for her here tonight.

Akeelah rushed over to the pair as fast as she possibly could but she knew in her heart that she would not make it on time. As fast as the huntress was Roman was still pretty quick too, that much she could tell as much even before she fought him for the first time. Demon’s were naturally fast and agile compared to humans, there was no doubt in her mind that this one could do a lot of damage with very little effort to his next victim with what little time it took for her to get back onto her feet. She had screwed up here, badly screwed up and now Angel was going to pay the price for it. The only thing that Akeelah could possibly do now was try to give him as little time as possible to do anymore damage. God she hoped that Angel had some means to defend herself. Akeelah didn’t think that the poor girl had any weapons on her, if she did for whatever reason the girl had chosen not to use them. If that was the case now would be a great time to do that. She highly doubted that though, the chances were she didn’t and with Angel unarmed this situation could only get uglier.
What Akeelah didn’t know was that Angel did have something up her sleeve. Within moments of Roman charging towards her Angel’s hidden power had awakened. When Akeelah saw the girl’s hair change color she couldn’t help but stop and look at the other girl in surprise. What the hell is going on? she thought in confusion. She really was confused, Akeelah had not expected this, she had no idea what Angel was capable of. She had assumed that Angel was human and now she didn’t even know what she was. It was just like how it was with Adrian. When she had met the boy for the first time she had thought he was human. That was until she saw him scaling up the walls like a lizard in their first fight with Roman. That had confused her but there had been no time to demand answers from him about what he was and she had let it slide for the time being.
Now the same thing was happening with Angel. Akeelah was really slipping up when it came to telling the difference between who was human and who wasn’t. But now was not the time to question the other girl’s true identity. After all Akeelah still had a promise to keep and a demon to slay. Forcing herself back to the task at hand Akeelah continued forward. The second that she was close enough to the target Akeelah tried to stab the fiend in the back. The least she could do if she could not hit him with this attack was to use herself as a distraction, giving Angel the opportunity to use her new found powers to deal the finishing blow.

Fueled by anger, Angel stood her ground, she didn't even flinch as Roman made a move and pulled out the switch blade from his pockets, in fact she mimicked the sly smile that he had just flashed her and the huntress a few moments ago.
" What are you gonna do with that?" She asked as she felt the adrenaline pumping through her veins, this only giving her more energy that she needed to move onward. From behind Roman Angel seen that Akeelah was now getting to her feet and she didn't need to read her thoughts to know the questions floating admist, but those would have to wait until later.
For now, they needed to get Roman knocked down and off his feet. As she looked at him, she vowed that on this day she would have his head, that was why once she seen Akee make her move, she knew that she would be clear to attempt to disarm Roman. Once the weapon dropped to the ground Angel would resume her defensive position and focus her will on it. Using her energy, the weapon would become air born and would be pointing in Roman's direction, she was ready for if the huntress missed.

It seemed he had underestimated the two girls, the tables had turned and now Roman realized they were no longer in his favor. This being said however, now was not the time to stand and try to figure out where he had went wrong on the contrary he would need to focus now on defending himself against the huntress and sorceress as behind him he could hear Akee coming to her feet.
Just what I needed. He thought as he continued to stare girl in front of him, there was no telling what her powers were in this form, all Roman knew was that the last time he had witnessed this power she had taken some of him with her- due to this form she now had the ability to read minds, a point that Roman would have to keep in mind. Now, his only chance of survival would be to run on instinct, he could not think about his next move, he could only play things by chance, he was not able to use his powers now as they would take time and focus, thus giving the sorceress time to see what he was thinking which would lead to countering the attack. No, for now he would have to rely on his brute demonic strength and speed to help him out in this.
Behind him, Roman could hear the sudden sound of Akeelah's blade as it cut through the air, thus forcing him to lose all focus of the higher being in front of him. Before Akeelah could bring the kinfe down to his back, Roman had already spun around to face Akeelah, at the same time stepping back a few paces, the knife missing him only by mere inches, this leaving Roman stunned as he looked at the girl who had just came after him. At the same time, Roman felt a pain in his hand where the other girl had found her own mark, thus causing Roman's hand to lose grip of the weapon, this being another deadly mistake for as soon as the weapon dropped to the ground, Roman read the girl's thoughts as she brought the weapon up off the ground where he knew it was pointed directly at the back of his head. The next move would be crucial for Roman's survival. He would need to be a little more creative if he wanted to live to tell the tale of this battle.

It came as no surprise to Akeelah that Roman managed to avoid getting stabbed by her again. His attention might have seemed to be solely on Angel but he would have been either mad, stupid, or a combination of both to completely dismiss her presence. He might have brought her down for a few seconds but because he failed to do more than just trip the girl up it would only be a matter of time before she got back into the game. The edge that Roman had only moments before was quickly slipping away. He was back into a two on one battle with the two girls, one an experienced demon hunter and one with powerful magic abilities that neither him nor Angel’s little partner were aware of. Roman was in trouble, big trouble if he did not do something fast to turn the tables around.
And that was something Akeelah was set on making sure he wouldn’t be able to. The huntress had only one thing to do to make sure that the demon could not get back the upper hand. She needed to distract him long enough for Angel to finish the bastard off. Akeelah might not know what Angel was capable of right now but she could tell that the girl had more power to her than she had originally thought and she had to put her faith in the girl to use whatever that power might be to help her end this. If they wanted to defeat Roman they had to work together efficiently as a team. It was the only advantage that they had at this point and so far it had served them well enough. Roman had not been able to follow through with his promise to harm anyone or cause major destruction because they had gotten in his way. They even forced him to stay on the defensive, giving the fiend little room to make any attack of his own. If Roman could not go on the offensive then he had no chance of winning.
She didn’t even slow down when Roman avoided her attack. Instead she continued to move forward aiming to stab him once again in the stomach where she had stabbed him earlier. If she could manage to get the knife into him again she would force them knife up while it was still inside him to widen the existing wound. Even if the attack did not hit its mark it would no doubt force the creature to take a step back, one step closer to Angel and the weapon that she had aimed for him. Akeelah was putting a lot of faith in the other girl, something that she rarely did with anyone else. Relaying on another person in a fight was still something she was not used to doing but to beat Roman now she had no choice but to do that. She only hoped that she was doing the right thing.

The blade hovered steadily behind Roman, Angel held it there by mere will, her and it now one whole. She focused on the two battling figures in front of her. She could tell Roman was becoming nervous. He was out numbered this time around, he wasn't just dealing with the huntress anymore.
As she seen a clear spot, Angel focused on brining the knife forward, her concern hitting Roman as well as trying to avoid Akee in the process. Concentrate. Angel willed herself, the knife began to quiver as she held it there in spot looking for a window. Finally, she seen a whole, she was clear now and was able to take a shot.
Very carefully, Angel glanced at the huntress who was now positioned in front of Roman who had just luckily dodged the huntress's attack, now Akee was in front of Roman lining herself up in perfect attack position. At this instant Angel willed the knife so that it came towards Roman, it spiraled forward, it's target in view.
